Marine Biologist Katelyn Arruda

Katie Arruda has been working with Reef Life since 2015 performing environmental site assessments for impacted reef systems.

She earned two degrees which bring great understanding of the marine environment:

Bachelor of Science: Marine Science

Professional Master of Science and Technology in Environmental Science

With Advanced PADI and Nitrox Certifications, Katie also completes Environmental Technology Assessments for mandatory State and Governmental certifications and hydro geological surveys on eastern coastal regions. Katie attended the Deep Sea Corals Show in Boston recently and helped our engineering team come up with bases for trawlers who dredge up massive corals in deep sea locations globally. These large coral bases will be stored in the hold in readiness for the accidental hauling aboard of these important corals. They will be attached to these growth plates and placed back in the oceans to thrive anew. She brings both creativity and a deep understanding of the fragile marine environment to Reef Life and we are so very proud to have her on the team!
